Bill and Cath Costley proprietors of Costley Hotels have worked relentlessly since 1988, when the Company was founded to ensure that the standards in each of their establishments was maintained. Indeed the gates at Lochgreen House in Troon, the Company flagship, bears the words 'AD VITUTEM NITENS' which means striving for excellence - that is the motto which is held on a daily basis by everyone who works for the Company.
Bill and Cath are delighted every time the news is given that one of the hotels or inns has received an award from an Industry source. These awards are much sought after and are not handed out lightly, they are gratefully accepted and appreciated.
The most cherished awards though, are the individual ones which are given from the Company's very loyal customer base who use all of the hotels and inns on a regular basis - they are priceless and impossible to list fully!!
Listed below are some of the awards received in the last year:
Scottish Hotel Group of the Year 2006
Sunday 23rd April 2006 saw the biggest annual gathering of Scottish hoteliers, as more than 400 guests descended on The Radisson SAS in Glasgow for the announcement of The Scottish Hotels of The Year Awards 2006. It was possibly the biggest-ever event, purely for Scottish Hoteliers, who came from every corner of Scotland.
The awards, organised by Scotland's most-read hotel guide HotelReviewScotland.com and supported by the Scottish Tourism Forum and VisitScotland.com, plus other national tourism bodies and companies, are planned to be as precise and helpful as possible for both the public and the industry.
Almost 25,000 votes were received for these prestigious awards, making this the biggest ever public vote on hotels in the UK.
A delighted Bill Costley said, "The whole team at Costley and Costley are very pleased to receive this award, the last few years has seen the company develop with the introduction of new properties and concepts. To be recognised as The Scottish Hotel Group of the Year is a great achievement, it is a reflection on everyone's hard work and determination to continually maintain and improve our standards”
Lochgreen House Hotel, Troon was awarded the prestigious AA Inspector's Choice Hotel for 2006.
This award is given by the AA in recognition of being one of the very best hotels in Britain and Ireland. In the AA Inspector's own words 'These hotels offer consistently outstanding levels of quality, comfort, cleanliness and customer care. ' The awards are rare and only a handful of hotels in Scotland have been chosen to receive this accolade.
